Day 12: (Un)Favorable Bible Verse

I have deep interest with blue sky and the cloud. Since I was a young child, I love to imagine the story behind the cloud. In my imagination, I see the throne of the Lord and how He manage the life in Heaven. Sometimes I wish I could see His face peek through the cloud (even though as an adult now, that scene would be frightening).

Imagine if one day the Lord comes to you and He speaks to you as He did before to Mother Mary. Can you answer as boldly as Mother Mary did?

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
(Luke 1:38 NKJV)

As a human, I see that verse as something frightening and unbearable. But then, what’s the lesson behind?

“For it is a dreadful truth that the state of (as you say) ‘having to depend solely on God’ is what we dread most”
(C.S. Lewis – Letters to an American Lady)
