We all have favorite movies and one of my most favorite movies is The Count of Monte Christo. I can’t remember how many times I watch and re-watch this movie. And every time I watch it, I learn new lessons about life.
Edmond Dantes is one example of how to be wise as a snake and be as gentle as a dove (Matthew 10:16). He learned his lessons while he was imprisoned and use his head – instead of his heart – to pay on his revenge. Of course, he went through a struggle to overcome his destructive emotions.
Every time I feel low and need some kind of motivation, I always look back to Edmond Dantes. My next project is to read the classic book of Edmond Dantes. I did the ‘beginner’ book a few years ago and aiming for the classic one.
“See, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Be then as wise as snakes, and as gentle as doves.”
(Matthew 10:16 – Basic English Translation).
