Day 20: The Lure of Sale

I am not a real shopper. Cramped into crowd and fighting over the-last-one item is not my cup of tea. But still, I have passion for shopping.

Today is the first day I went to shopping mall within two weeks of my recovery. I had lunch with my girlfriends and strolling around to do some quick grocery shopping. And everywhere I look, I saw big bold red signs of SALE. Alluring!

Some big brands always have their annual sale season and alluring thousands of people to come. I remember the first time I moved to Surabaya, the capital of East Java, Indonesia. I went to a big shopping mall with some girlfriends from high school and we went puzzled when we saw hundreds of women waiting in line in front of a famous clothing line. The door was half closed and the guard was watching closely. We thought there was a thief got caught in the middle of the day. Turned out, they were lining up for some sale shopping!

My biggest temptation is book sale. I could be drawn for hours – picking and choosing and thinking and telling myself which books to buy and which not to buy.

I have to go now. Have a good day and enjoy shopping!
