Day 107: Holy Thursday – Humility and Love

Today is the first day of triduum – it is Holy Thursday or Maundy Thursday. Just before the priest started to give his homily, the electricity went down. So, the priest had to scream to his lung and still, we couldn’t hear his voice clearly. Fortunately, after a few minutes, everything was back to place and I could follow what the priest had to say.

He said that the point of celebrating Holy Thursday is to have humility and love toward God and others. St Thomas Aquinas said that “humility is a virtue”. Humility is the choice that one make to see others as above or more important than oneself. And that’s the point of the ‘washing of the feet’ process in the middle of the mass. If one can make humility as a virtue, then one can love God and others sincerely. Just as what Jesus did.

I pray that all of you have a deep celebration of the Triduum. May God be with you and bless you.

Have a good day!
