Grandma is finally back to her hometown. We went alongside her and brought her back to a place where she feels at home.
In my eyes, I could see the simple and not so sophisticated design and flowers all around her. I doubt it at first – questioning shouldn’t she deserve something better?
But hey! This is her hometown! A home in her heart. It is not about the simple design nor the lack of colorful flowers. It is about being at home – feeling welcomed and loved.
When we arrived at the airport of Banjarmasin, my Uncle was waiting outside the plane door and with him, there was a bus booked for us. Then on our way out of the airport, so many people gathered! Aunties, uncles, cousins and relatives. We didn’t do any preparation, because they did it for us – for Grandma. My Aunt cooked fried noodles for us – 100 people!
At last, she is home now.
