Day 300: #NaNoWriMo

I love the number of this post, 300. Symbolically it represents the 300 Spartans who fought againts The Persian Empire. I love the movie, mostly because of the endurance and practice of the Spartans. They can be what they are, because of practice and believing in their own ability.

It is only 4 days left before NaNoWriMo 2014 is started. I’ve been registered myself for the past 3 years and yet, didn’t do a thing about it. As I wrote in my previous post, that the urge to write is becoming unbearable, I guess this is the time for me to get serious. And I challenge myself to be part of this global movement this year. I don’t know if I can finish up a-50,000 novel by the end of November. But I am willing to try, to find out.

The urge to write is not enough in itself. It has to be written out – so people can read that urge, in words. I’ve been drafting and writing the first few chapters of my first novel (I’m saying it with a faithful heart). It is about a gay man who has to live his life with all its complexity – faith, marriage issue, parents, and many more. I chose this topic mainly because I have too many gay friends, and I felt compelled to write it down.

I will find another participant of this year, so that we can support each other.
